Q&A: Next Generation Energy and Technology Club

Do club members need to be planning to be in the energy and tech field?

No, they should be interested in the topics of innovative technology, AI, and renewable energy, but don't necessarily need to be related to the field.

What is the council focused on?

The main purpose is to educate and collaborate on new energy sources, AI development, and the future of Texas. This could include researching, debating, taking tours of energy centers, and attending guest speaker events.

How often will the council meet? What is the time commitment?

The council will meet once a month. Meetings are in person at the school, lasting about 30-60 minutes. The total time commitment will be a minimum of 10 hours for the year.

What responsibilities will the members be required to uphold?

Members should attend all meetings, actively participate, and personally recruit other members.

Will adults be at the meetings?

A teacher proctor will be available for direction, but the club will be student-led. An adult will be on the premises. Parents of club members will not attend meetings.
